HOw To FUNNY FELINE FRIDAY

Image
Flexible cat Oh to have the flexibility of a cat. I might get some more yard work done, LOL . This is Sydney, the old one, sleeping in some sort of "L position".  Of course, this was a few years ago when he was a bit more flexible. Now he spends most of his days curled up.   I swear they are part slinky.   It's a cold Friday here, hope you are warm wherever you are. More this afternoon.

$#%@ CATS!   Oh to be a cat (in this house especially, LOL) and stay in bed all day long on a cold, wet, dreary day.  Sigh. This is Sydney and Brisbane, curled up one morning as we left for work.  When one has pets, cats or dogs, I guess making the bed becomes an exercise in futility at some point?

Cat "hide and seek" epic fail Hobart was racing through the house one day and jumped up on this bench that had a quilt on it.  He dove underneath and then sat there for about five minutes, like no one knew he was there.  His tail twitched and swished back and forth but he hunkered down like he was hidden from the world. Silly kitty!

HOw To FELINE FRIDAY THAT WARMS OUR HEARTS

Brisbane and Hobart This is Brisbane, cuddling up next to Hobart. It warms our hearts because Brisbane has been seemingly down since we lost Sydney.  Brisbane came to us as a tiny bottle fed baby and Sydney was his only 'cat frame of reference'.  They became inseparable. With his bond with Sydney, he never really had much to do with Hobart when he came into the family.  But now, they are starting to warm up to each other.  They have spent the last few days sleeping next to each other.  It started out just laying 'nearby' and then progressed to actual physical contact! Still, we all miss Sydney.  There is a different feeling in the house.  Sydney was the patriarch of the house and we definitely feel his absence. We both wanted to say, from the bottom of our hearts, how much your kind words meant to us when we lost him.  I haven't gotten around to replying to them all yet because, well, it makes us sad to read them b...

Cat covering his face This is Brisbane...sleeping the way he often does, covering his face with his front arm  leg.  He's done this since he was a kitten.  I'm not sure if he's really blocking out the light or it just feels comfortable. All we know is that it sure is adorable. Friday is here, it's rainy but supposed to be a nice weekend.

HOw To WHAT DO CATS DREAM ABOUT

Image
This is Brisbane, he was sleeping on a pillow he took over  we gave to him.  His front legs arms were sticking straight out and his ears were twitching...I'm pretty sure he was dreaming of being a superhero... It's Brisbane, The Cat of Steel! CAMERA FLASH!!!   OOPS ! Hoping to head off to the farm later after running some in town errands. Rain is in our forecast this weekend, which would be nice if it happens. Updates later, have a great weekend doing what you love!

Hobart, the solar powered cat Hobart doing what he does best...finding the sun wherever it is streaming in and then he just lays there, soaking it up.  Of course, shortly thereafter, he goes on a wild rampage through the house. We think he's actually solar powered.  Yay, it's Friday.  Seems like it's been a long week. More later today!

Brisbane...LASER CAT!   I've always loved glowing cat eyes, it's so mysterious and fun.  And, I wistfully imagine that they harbor all sorts of crazy powers. In this case, Brisbane becomes LASER CAT ! More this afternoon/evening.

HOw To FABULOUSLY FUNNY FELINE FRIDAY

Image
Without further ado, we now present a new Friday Feature. We shall call it "FABULOUSLY FUNNY FELINE FRIDAY". Brisane, apparently NOT ready for his closeup  Oh, OK, we'll shorten it to Feline Friday next week, LOL. Since I can't/don't want to use the comics anymore, we were doing some out loud thinking and realized we have hundreds (and hundreds) of photos of our cat menagerie through the years (yeah, we're those kind of pet people, ha). I know not everyone is a cat person, but it is my hope that you'll get a smile out of it anyway.  Cat's do the silliest things sometimes! Friday here!  More later this afternoon!

Yep, never fails, make the bed with fresh, clean sheets, get a good night's sleep, wake up, go get some coffee, come back and poof, a black cat hair bomb has exploded.  Sigh. Yay, Friday is here.  We have a wet day in the forecast, we'll see. More later this afternoon!

This is Brisbane and Sydney...they were laying on some pillows in the window one day when I snapped this picture.  What's funny is that I took the picture (several actually) and I went to pet Brisbane and he hissed at me! All I could think was "look but don't touch", ha! It's Friday!  Weekend almost here!

Hobart the cat Here is Hobart, doing his best Darth Vader impression. He's is the funniest little (or not so little) cat, he just sits and watches.  Watches everything we do.  We call him the 'watcher' and say that he's trying to learn how to run the house so he can take over some day.  He also follows us (me usually) all over the place. He'll get up when I get off the couch and run along beside me and follow me into the kitchen and sit there.  Then he follows me into the bedroom and sits.  Then he follows me back to the living room and lays down by the door.  In those moments we call him "Lassie". Silly kitty! Smile, it's Friday!

Hobart, the hypnotizing cat This is Hobart, staring me down. He spends a lot of his time, when he's not sleeping of course, watching us.  We call him "The Watcher".  We figure that he's either a) trying really hard to influence our decisions, or b) he's watching to see how to do things so that he can eventually take over. You ever have one of those pets that just stares at you? More later this afternoon!

Cat laying on his back This is a feral we took care of from kitten hood.  We called him "Belly Kitty".  He was born to a feral mother cat under our house in town.  We had him fixed and after that, he rarely left the backyard.  We were the only ones that could ever pet him and he took full advantage of that. He was ALWAYS laying on his back and loved nothing more than having his tummy rubbed.  When he saw us, he even made a show of running in front and falling onto his back, rolling around.  "Scratch my belly!" Of course, he often decided to do this just outside the door, all splayed out on his back...we learned to always look down when carrying packages and to never go outside in the dark!  Sadly, he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge a  couple of years ago, and we sure miss giving those belly rubs. But he'll be making more Friday appearances in photos!

Snooze buttons on cats? Having cats, it didn't take us long to notice that when the alarm clock goes off in the morning, there they are...looking at you.  Then we hit snooze on the alarm clock.  The alarm goes quiet, but they don't.  The alarm goes off and they are still sitting there.  Staring.  Meowing.  Alarm clock snooze again.  More meowing.  Then they follow you around, looking up, pleading...and then we relent and give in.  Breakfast is served your majesty... More later today!

White cat outside This is 2nd Family's cat Benny.  He roams around in the brush and trees and just sits there like no one would ever see him at all.  Then he acts all surprised when you walk over to him to pet him. He's not hard to miss in the brush, even at night he practically GLOWS in the dark, ha!  Silly kitty! It's Friday!  More later this afternoon.

Happy kitten sleeping on her back This is 2nd Family's new kitten "Clover", doing her new favorite thing.  They said if you hold her in your lap on her back and rub her tummy, she just sort of stretches out, goes limp, and falls to sleep!  Must be nice! Ah, the life of a kitten in a loving home.  It's rough but someone has to do it. Hope your Friday is just like Clover's... More later this afternoon, including a gardening question.
